Why you need them
Each venue is a separate location with its own working hours, player and music. This way a chain can, for example, play calm background in one cafe in the morning and something upbeat in another, without getting in each other’s way.
How to create one
- Open Locations and click Location or zone.
- Choose what you are creating: a location (a new address) or a zone inside an existing location, such as a second hall, a terrace or a floor.
- For a location pick the company and fill in the name and address. A zone only needs a name and a place within the address.
- Save and connect a player.
Zones
A zone is a separate sound point inside a location: its own player, its own playlist and schedule. The address and company are the same as the location’s, and in lists it is labeled with a “location · zone” pair. It costs less than a location and is covered by the location’s certificate.
Deleting
You can delete a location or a zone in its settings. The location stops playing and disappears from the list together with its zones. The paid slot is freed up, and you can reduce the number of slots in “Billing”, from the next billing date.
Available fields
- Name: what the venue is called in your console (for example, “Downtown Cafe”).
- Address: the venue’s physical address. It goes into the license certificate, so it cannot be changed once the certificate is issued.
- City and Country: optional, they help you find your way around the list.
- Tags: labels for grouping (up to 8, separated by commas). A tag makes it easy to set a shared schedule for a whole group of venues at once.
- Starting playlist: what plays at the venue right after it is connected (you can change it later).
What you see on the location card
When you open a venue you see its live status and its broadcast settings:
- Now playing: which playlist is playing at the venue right now and on which schedule day (for example, “Late bar”, “All days”).
- Device: which player the venue is connected through: Web or App. This is also where Open player and Disconnect are. Clicking “Now playing” also opens the web player.
- Hours today: how many hours the venue has already played today (for example, “0h on air”).
- Time zone: the venue’s local time (for example, Berlin · UTC+1). The schedule runs on it.
- Broadcast hours: days of the week and opening and closing times. Music and ads play only during these hours, and the player is silent the rest of the time.
- Volume: the overall volume of the device at the venue.
